Welcome to the St Francis Youth and Community website.

St Francis Youth and Community Centre has been a focal point within the community since 1975 with over 1,000 people accessing our services each week.

We are situated on Sycamore Road in the heart of the Bournville village. The Centre is open to all members of the community and offers a wide range of activities for the local people and groups to access. These include a pre-school, leisure classes, out of school club, a luncheon club and a youth project

The St Francis Luncheon Club

Are your days long and lonely? Would you like to meet new people and make new friends?

If so, the St Francis Luncheon Club may be what you are looking for. We provide 16 places for people aged 65 years and over who may be housebound, lonely or just in need of some company.

When do we meet? We meet every Friday during term time (39 weeks per year).  Our opening hours are 10.30 am - 2.30 pm.

Do we provide a meal? We provide a nutritious two course lunch and refreshments in the morning and afternoon for which a small charge is made.  All dietary needs are catered for.

Activities All our activities are designed to stimulate members, encourage independence and improve general health and well being.  Movement to music classes are designed to encourage even the most frail members to exercise. Quizzes, card games and bingo help to improve mental capacity.

Transport This is arranged through Shencare Community Transport.

Volunteers Apart from the cook, all our helpers are volunteers.  They all receive regular support and training and a DBS check is made.
